Weekly Report 3

25 June 2018, Monday

After a leave of three days including the collector declared holiday of Friday because of heavy rain today start the class. Chemistry class was the for 9th standard. Students can be easily handled with video presentation. During 6th period Health education class was given to 99t standard students.
Our head of the department Dr. Anila teacher and Smt. Sathi  teacher visit in our school they corrected our records and diary reports. They also gave us valuable suggestions for improving our classes.

26 June 18, Tuesday
International Anti-narcotics day was today. There was a speech delivered by Srila teacher on the same topic and a pledge for students during the morning prayer. We joined for an awareness class conducted by the student teachers at 9th standard. There was a ppt assisted class and short film related to drug abuse.
Substitution class was there at 7 B.

27 June 2018, Wednesday
It was a fine sunny morning. I got an opportunity to take class at standard 9. Rutherford Model of atom was today's topic.

28 June 2018, Thursday
We discussed Bohr model of atom during our Chemistry class. We got an opportunity to serve food for student. It was a wonderful experience.

29 June 2018, Friday
At third period my physics class was at standard 8A. I continued with measurements.
Science club inauguration was done by respected principal Shelbi teacher. She delivered an awesome speech on how to develop scientific spirit. After that conviener Annama teacher announced the representatives from UP and HS section.

Fifth period was chemistry class at 9B class. Atomic number and mass number of elements played well with students.

18 June 2018, Monday
Today I got third period Chemistry class at 9th standard. Sheena teacher was the to observe my class. I covered Dalton Atomic Theory and relative mass of atom today. Students were very Cooperative. They asked doubts so that I got another opportunity to become more close with the class.

19 June 2018, Tuesday

In memory of P N Panicker we celebrate 'Vayanadinam'  with a week long series of activities at schools and public Institutions  the honour his contributions to the cause of literacy education and library movement.  morning prayer senior Malayalam teacher Smt. Sreela teacher made a speech and also there was a pledge for students. Each student was requested to go to school library and take a book of their choice and write a  criticism and review about the book  after reading and submit to  corresponding teachers.

20 June 2018, Wednesday

We started our day with a sweet offered by our principal. Today was  his send off as he got transferred to MGM School Thiruvalla. Mr Shaji Varghese sir handed over his  assigned charges to our new principal Smt. Shalbi Varghese.

21 June 2018, Thursday

 International yoga day was today.  we decided to demonstrate yogasanas for students. I Joint with my friends after completing my chemistry class. Students of Standard 8 and Lovely teacher supported and participated well in Yoga presentation.

We celebrated International Yoga day at our school.

At the third period  Physics class was there for 8th standard it was my first class there. We started the fifth chapter ' Measurements and Units'.

First phase of teaching practice -School day

First day at St Thomas

13 June 2018 , Wednesday 

Today starts the first phase of our school internship. Four of us are allotted to the same school Saint Thomas Higher Secondary School, karthikappally. We Reshma, Swathi, Sabu and me reached the school on time. We met principal and handed over our attendance registers. He made arrangements for our staff room and told us to meet corresponding subject teachers. My Physics teacher is Alice Betty teacher she gave me 8 A class  for teaching physics. For Chemistry my teacher Sheena arranged 9 B class. Teachers are very friendly and caring. My first class practice was at 9 Bclass. I started first chapter of chemistry 'Structure of Atom'  there. Initiative program of Mathrubhumi newspaper ' Madhuram Malayalam'  campaign started here at our school.

YOGA DEMONSTRATION

Yoga Demonstration 

Our curriculum includes Yoga demonstration. We have to demonstrate Yoga postures for students during our teaching practice days. Prior to that our HOD arranged a Yoga session for BE.d second years to demonstrate Yoga before other students of our institution. After assembly we arranged seminar hall with Yoga mat. We started with panchakosha meditation followed by Padmasana done by Sherin and Reshma. Then Tadasana by Vijayalekshmi and Athira. Last asana was Vajrasana by me and Bindu. After all three asanas students are allowed to lie down in shavasana for relaxation. Everyone take part nicely in the yoga practice. It was really a mind relaxing day for us.

SEMINAR PRESENTATION

On June 6 th Wednesday we had a seminar presentation as a part of our practical work. The topics were assigned by our HOD Dr. Anila teacher. All of us prepared well along with PowerPoint presentation. After assembly all student teachers gathered at the seminar hall for the seminar presentation. On the behalf of DE.d students we started the session. Topics alotted are the following:

After every presentation we had discussion and students are free to ask questions. Most of the students asked questions. All student teachers tried their level best to clear those doubts. Our HOD Anila teacher helped in clearing doubts. Our seminar sessions came to an end by 3.00 PM.

June 5, Environmental Day at our college

#beatplasticpollution

June 5 begins with an assembly containing speech by BEd and DEd students about the Environmental Day and the 2018 theme beat plastic pollution. Then the assembly end up with a message of protecting environment. Then student teachers plant trees at our college. Afternoon session was an environmental day programme conducted by DEd student teachers.
